Neo2Paeds was established to make specialist neonatal and paediatric care more accessible, from the newborn period through childhood. Its model brings together hospital care, in-person consultations and video telehealth consultations, so access to specialist advice is not limited to a traditional rooms-based appointment.
The Neo2Paeds team coordinates appointment requests and correspondence for families and referring clinicians.
Dr Ahmed Moustafa
Specialist Neonatologist & Paediatrician
Dr Ahmed Moustafa is dual-trained in paediatrics and neonatal and perinatal medicine. His neonatal subspecialty expertise spans the care of newborn babies, including those born prematurely and those requiring intensive care for surgical, cardiac or other complex neonatal conditions. He works as a subspecialist neonatologist at the Grace Centre for Newborn Intensive Care, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, a quaternary neonatal intensive care service within the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. He also provides newborn care as a visiting specialist at Mater Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.
His work also includes advanced neonatal resuscitation, clinical education, research and clinical practice improvement.
Through the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Surgical Network, he has contributed to benchmarking and clinical practice improvement for high-risk surgical newborns across Australia and New Zealand. He also contributes to paediatric scholarship as a member of the Editorial Board for Neonatology of the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health.
